Donkey Care Workshops

Here at Donkey Rescue UK we like to use the gentle nature of our donkeys to benefit those who need it most.

We have donkey care workshop days, where disabled or disadvantaged children can come and meet the donkeys, learn how to care for them, groom them, love them and sometimes even ride them.

The response that some children have to animals is amazing, and the donkeys can often get positive reactions from children where members of the human race can’t even come close!

We will take our donkeys to schools or youth groups, care and residential homes, WI talks and demonstrations, and we even take them to church when required.

Donkeys are kind, loyal animals and are therapeutic to children and adults alike. We strongly believe that it is important that everyone gets the chance to see first hand how these beautiful creatures recognise the goodness in human nature, and how kindness to animals reaps its rewards. Education is key, and allowing people, especially children, less fortunate than ourselves to come and spend time interacting with the donkeys is a privilege and a very special part of what we do.

We are currently fundraising to move to larger premises so that we can expand our facilities and offer more Donkey Care Workshop days and riding and driving lessons to children.

If you would like to know more information about this aspect of our work, or you would like to make a donation, please get in touch, we would love to talk to you.
